What is web hosting?
In order for people to be able to browse your website, you need to have your webpages available to them at all times. For this to happen, you need to have a server (a high-performance computer) connected to the internet via special, high-speed connections. Web hosting is the process of making your website available to everybody on the internet by using these server.

Digital Caffeine has multiple computers connected to the internet with more than one high-speed connection. The reason for having more than one computer and more than one connection is for the purposes of redundancy. If one server goes down or needs an upgrade, your website is still available, unaffected. The internet connections that we have go from our servers to different points of connection on the internet. This means that if something happens to one connection, again, you website is unaffected.

To accommodate those times when the power is acting up, Digital Caffeine has Uninteruptable Power Supplies (very, very big batteries) that keep our equipment running at all times.
